The Robots of Sherwood
Episode 3 finds a skeptical Doctor and a very excited Clara in the middle of Sherwood Forest alongside the handsome archer, Robin Hood and his Merry Men. From the sword fight with the spoon to shooting the golden arrow this episode was brilliant! It was a little lighter than what we’ve seen so far this series and it was nice. Mark Gatiss did spledidly with this episode! As a long term fan of the Robin Hood legends I felt that this portral did the character justice.
And once again, Capaldi is knocking it out of the park as the Doctor!
Some key points to note though:
-No Missy this episode and the only death was not caused by The Doctor
-The peck on the cheek: the bit after The Doctor was pecked on the cheek (by…was that Marian?) he felt his cheek with a pensive (is that the right word?) look…Almost like he had forgotten what that felt like…I think we need to keep that moment in mind. I feel like its going to be important later.
-Robin’s speech: what he said about stories and such I think really struck a chord with the Doctor. Perhaps he realized in that moment that he and Robin Hood were more alike than he would have thought
-The Promise Land: 3 episode this has been mentioned…seriously what is this place? Perhaps its where Missy dwells? I feel like we’re going to find out closer to the end the season what this place is (I hope so anyway. Please don’t make this a red herring, Moffit!)
Overall, fantastic episode! After watching the preview for “Listen” I’m not sure I’m going to be able to sleep tonight! Haha Anyway I look forward to next weeks episode! :)
